Shodo: Millennial Japanese Calligraphy

Shodo is one of the five styles of Kanji. It has its origin in Chinese writing. It is not the act of writing strokes, but the ceremony of drawing them. Handwriting becomes an art. Sho means the calligraphy, do means the way.

The hypnotic and relaxing movement of the brush leads you to a kind of meditation.

You can try with your name written in Kanji. Take a paintbrush and black ink.
