Galician Arts Day
Next 1st April, the Galician Academy of Fine Arts will tribute Luis Seoane. He is one of the most outstanding Galician intellectuals of the 20th century. A man deeply committed to Galician culture and society, who helped to enlarge this land through his work as an artist, writer, journalist, editor and promoter of a large number of cultural initiatives throughout his life.
He was born in Buenos Aires, in 1910. His parents had migrated there. They came back to Arzúa (Galicia) when he was six years old.
He combined his Law degree with studies in engraving and painting. He made his first exhibition in 1929.
My proposal for our Arts class is to work around his artwork "As mariscadoras".
